PUDTOL, Apayao July 06 – A 54-year old employee of the Apayao provincial government died while a motorcycle driver was injured after their motorcycles collided head on along the provincial road at Capannikian, here, Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Federico Llameg Alonzo, 54, married, Apayao Provincial Government employee, a resident of Sitio Pisong, Swan, Pudtol, Apayao while the injured individual was named as Robert Candiya Oraye, 37, married, driver, a resident of barangay, Swan, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle with an improvised side car and without any head light when it collided head on with the motorcycle that came from the opposite direction.
The two motorcycle drivers were rushed to the Ama Jadsak District Hospital for medical treatment but the victim was declared dead on arrival while his fellow motorcycle driver was transferred to the Far North General Hospital and Medical Center for further medical treatment.
Both drivers were described by police operatives as under the influence of liquor at the time of the said incident.
