TABUK CITY, Kalinga– In its continuous effort to strengthen the members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council ( BADAC) in the 43 barangays of Tabuk City, the Tabuk City Police Station had been convening the BADACs in the city, among the recent is Barangay Appas.
During the activity, the City Barangay Affairs and Community Relations Office represented by Pastor John Ya-os led the spiritual strengthening session, and discussions on the indigenous basic concepts of “paniyaw,” “ngilin,” and “bain.”
Atty. Samuel Poking Jr. from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga, presented the salient provisions of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive and Dangerous Drugs Act in relation to the functions of the BADAC.
According to Police Senior Master Sergeant Alvius Cordero of the Tabuk City Police Station, what is unique in the program under the Estrañero Administration is that the stakeholders involved all the sectors for them to join in the campaign against illegal drugs and other crimes specially for their sector of which several young people had been involved in the illegal-drug trade and use.
The city has involved all the barangays with the intention to establish a drug-free community in the entire city through the participation of all stakeholders.
