TABUK CITY, Kalinga — The 1405 Community Defense Center (CDC) recently hosted a momentous event, extending an Arrival Honor to Commander Reserve Command, MGEN Romulo A. Manuel JR. The occasion brought together personnel from the 1405 Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, the 5th Infantry Division, and the Philippine Army Band.
The CDC welcomed MGen Manuel during his visit to H1405CDC, 14RCDG, RESCOM, PA, KSU Bulanao Campus. The Arrival Honor showcased the unity and respect within the military community, emphasizing the significance of this distinguished visit.
Attendees were treated to a traditional Filipino “Boodle Fight” lunch—a practice that transcends mere sustenance. Soldiers, officers, and guests shared food, symbolizing equality and brotherhood. The Boodle Fight, deeply rooted in Philippine military culture, fosters togetherness and strengthens bonds among service members.
LTC Alfredo T. Loy-od (CE) PA, the Director of the 1405th CDC, RCPA, conducted a Unit Briefing. He highlighted the CDC’s strategic goals, emphasizing the enhancement of reserve force capabilities and community engagement. The commitment to these objectives underscores the CDC’s vital role in national defense.
The event culminated in a Talk to the Troops and Open Forum. Attendees engaged directly with commanders, discussing various issues, suggestions, and concerns. MGen Manuel commended LTC LOY-OD and the Enlisted Personnel of 1405CDC, along with the Reservist Personnel of 1405 Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, for their unwavering commitment and dedication to the unit’s mission.
LTC Loy-od and LTC Rodolfo C. Ballog (RES) PA, 1405RRIBn Bn Cmdr., expressed heartfelt gratitude to MGen MANUEL for his support and valuable time spent with 1405 CDC personnel and members of 1405RRIBn.
As a fitting conclusion, a raffle was held for all Ready Reservists present. The prizes included Individual Ready Individual Equipment sets. Winners, determined by their registration series numbers, celebrated their good fortune as a testament to the camaraderie and shared purpose that define the 1405 CDC community.
