LUNA, Apayao – Apayao State College (ASC) has partnered with the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) to develop its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
Both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the FEM Hall in MMSU Batac City on February 4, to establish this partnership and for MMSU to formally provide academic and professional guidance for ASC’s nursing program. The partnership covers teaching, research, and extension, with specific focus on program implementation and certification.
ASC Vice President for Academic, Research Development, and Extension Services Dr. Ronald Ocampo and MMSU OIC-President Prima Fe R. Franco led the signing, joined by ASC College Nurse Eunice Aloag, Campus Academic Dean Rema Ocampo, and Bachelor of Physical Education Program Chair, Marfred Sanchez.
Prior to the MoU signing, MMSU’s College of Health Sciences conducted a consultation workshop at ASC’s Luna Campus on January 28-29 where topics discussed included admission policies, clinical training, curriculum development, and establishment of a nursing arts laboratory.
MMSU, known for its Level IV Phase 1 AACCUP-accredited nursing program, has consistently produced top-ranking graduates in the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination.
This partnership is an important milestone in ASC’s mission to expand its academic offerings and provide quality nursing education in the province. By Diocen D. Tolentino
