LUNA, Apayao – The Apayao State College (ASC) opened its doors to 4,089 students for the second semester of Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 in its Luna and Conner campuses.
According to the college registrar, the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program remains the most sought-after course with 839 students enrolled this semester, after recording 1,122 enrollees during the first semester this AY. The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program ranks second with 439 enrollees.
The total number of students this semester likewise showed an increase compared to the 3,978 enrollees during the same period last year. In the first semester of this AY, ASC had 5,302 students, which was six percent (6%) higher than the 5,015 students recorded in the first semester of the previous AY. This AY’s first semester number is the highest in the post-pandemic era.
ACS President Dr. John Cabansag in his video message, welcomed the new and returning students, and likewise emphasized the institution’s efforts to cultivate a favourable learning atmosphere.
“This new chapter presents another opportunity to strive for academic excellence, build lasting friendships, and contribute to the community of ASC. To our dear students, we are committed to providing you with the support and resources you need to achieve your dreams. Let us continue cultivating a culture of learning, innovation, and service to our society,” he remarked.
ASC continues to improve its programs and facilities, with new teaching methods, career and college partnerships, and various extracurricular activities for the development of the students.
The college likewise achieved several accomplishments last year, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification, the launch of two new undergraduate programs in Conner campus, and a recognition at the Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC) meet.
