City officials recently declared the period June 12-18, 2023 as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Week in the city.
Under Resolution No. 348, series of 2023, the council honored that the Conference Director is the former City Mayor, Reinaldo A. Bautista, Jr., and for choosing the city as the venue of the ASEAN KCI Senate Conference, it is but proper that the city renders its full support to the conduct of the said international gathering.
Known publicly for almost a century now, the JCI is a non-profit organization composed of young active citizens who are engaged and committed to create an impact in their respective communities in the different parts of the world.
Further, the JCI is a group of highly-skilled and knowledgeable active citizens from all sectors of society taking initiatives to solve local and international challenges not just for a one-time donation or service opportunity but focusing on the sustainable impact to the community locally and globally.
Local JCI Senator Reinaldo A. Bautista, Jr. is the Conference Director of the prestigious event and has invited JCI Senators from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines to hold the conference’s second quarter board meeting in the city from June 12-18, 2023.
The council also decided to exempt the participants of the second quarter board meeting of the ASEAN JCI Senators on the aforesaid dates from the implementation of Ordinance No. 01, series of 2003 otherwise known as the Baguio City Number Coding Scheme as amended by Ordinance No. 31, series of 2004 and to allow them maximum mobility during this international event.
