LUNA, Apayao – The Apayao Training Center (ATC) and the Recruitment Division of the Provincial Governor’s Office are collaborating to conduct a series of skills training for recruits who successfully pass the Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)..
This is to boost the chances of recruits under the provincial government’s military recruitment program for possible enlistment to the AFP.
The first 15-day training on Driving NC II started yesterday September 16, 2024 and was held at Apayao Training Center Compound, with succeeding trainings to run through October.
ATC Officer-in-Charge Jerome Lacambra emphasized that “The recruitment division has noted that recruits who possess skills training certificates, especially national certificate II (NC II), have greater chances of being enlisted, so Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., has previously instructed the recruitment division and the ATC to partner in training recruits before undergoing admission processes in the AFP units of their choice.”
Lacambra also added that ATC expects to train more than 100 recruits referred by the recruitment division before the year ends, with those who have already passed the AFPSAT given priority as they may be called to report and undergo further screening and admission proceedings anytime.
In February this year, the ATC also facilitated the training of 17 recruits on Electrical Installation and Maintenance, all of whom successfully secured their national certificates after undergoing the competency-based assessment process prescribed by the Technical Skills and Development Authority.
