ATOK, Benguet – Atok National High School (ANHS) headed by the school head Gregoria M. Lipa-od, hosted a three-day District Training on Conducting School Project, Innovation, Basic Research and Action Research held at the Social Hall of ANHS, Poblacion, Atok, Benguet from February 18 to 20.
31 teachers completed the said training. Participants were from Atok National High School and two each from Camp 30 National High School, Camp 30 Elementary School, Topdac Elementary School, Felomina Cating Elementary School, Naguey Elementary School and Pasdong Elementary School.
It was divided into four sessions: Reynaldo P. Dicos, Master Teacher I of ANHS, talked on Conducting School Project during the first session; Fidel B. Waglison, Teacher II of ANHS talked on Teaching Innovation on the second session; Winston N. Ros, Teacher III of Mankayan National High School, shared on Basic Research on the third session; and Norie I. Padngaran, Master Teacher II of Eastern La Trinidad National High School, discussed on Action Research.
“I am impressed the way topics were presented. It was simple and easy-to-do process and motivating for me to conduct research” said Mhie D. Gayudan, a teacher participant when interviewed.
Professional development as the main goal of the district training or known as the Continuing Professional Development as stated in the Domain 7 of the Result-based Performance Management System (RPMS) is the rationale behind the activity. It is focused on growth and development that teachers should recognize in teaching assuming responsibility for personal growth and professional development for lifelong learning.
