MANKAYAN, Benguet – The municipal government is aggressively pushing for the improvement of its exiting rural health unit (RHU) that will translate to the effective and efficient delivery of basic health services to the town’s increasing population.
Mayor Frenzel Ayong disclosed that one of the local government’s priorities in case the expansion of the municipal hall will be realized is the put up of a new and well equipped RHU that will be able to cater to the growing needs of the people for appropriate health services to cure their illnesses.
He added that the RHU should also be equipped with a good number of dialysis achiness to be able to provide dialysis treatment to residents diagnosed for kidney ailments so that they will not be having a difficult time travelling to La Trinidad or Baguio city just for them to be able to be provided with such treatment.
“We value the importance of having to sustain the improvement of the delivery of health care services to our constituents, thus, thus, our existing health facilities should also be improved to provide our clients with far more better services and better area to recover from whatever are their diagnosed illnesses,” Mayor Ayong stressed.
The local chief executive claimed that the local government earmarked some funds for the purchase of a brand new vehicle for the RHU aside from trying to work out whatever will be sourced for an ambulance to be able to cater to the growing demand of patients that have to be transported to other areas with sophisticated health equipment for them to avail of such services that will address such sickness.
According to him, the local government has to work on its existing limited budget to fund its programmed high impact development projects without sacrificing the delivery of health care services so that the people will be able to feel the presence of the government in helping them address whatever are their needs although the municipality cannot afford to give everything the is being demanded, thus, the same must be prioritized based on the hierarchy of needs of the people.
He stated that the local government will continue to make the appropriate requests to concerned government agencies for the provision of the needed technical and financial support that will cause the cascading of various government programs, projects and activities to the municipality so that deserving beneficiaries will be the ones to benefit from the same.
Ayong is one of the municipal mayors in the province that is making his presence felt in his rea of jurisdiction with the aggressive and passionate implementation of reforms in the local government that will eventually result to the effective and efficient delivery of basic services to the people even up to the far flung communities of the municipality.
The municipal mayor appealed to his constituents for their utmost understanding for whatever are is shortcomings in his barely five months in his office considering that what he is inclined to do is make the people feel that the government will always be t their side attending to their needs although it cannot provide them with all of what they are longing for.
