BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio Animal Breeding and Research Center (BABRC) of the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera (DA-CAR) officially sent off on April 25, 2025, seven students from the Ifugao State University (IFSU) following the completion of their for on-the-job training (OJT) 550-hour services, which began on February 10, 2025.
These fourth-year students who are currently undertaking Bachelor of Agriculture Technology Program have taken significant strides in their academic journey by completing their OJT in various productions at BABRC.
In his message during the send-off program, Science Research Specialist Delbert Wayet encouraged the students to continue developing themselves and to serve their communities wherever they go.
“We hope you have learned a lot in your stay in the station that you can apply to your future plans after your graduation and continue your commitment to learn in the field of agriculture,” he said.
During their training, the students were assigned to different production projects of the Center, where they participated in hands-on activities in sheep production, pig production, chicken production, beekeeping, and dairy production.
One of the students, Mae Recolosado, who is majoring in Animal Technology, expressed her gratitude to BABRC for their guidance and support throughout the training.
“We are thankful to BABRC. The training was excellent, and we weren’t confined to just one area. We explored different production projects and truly experienced what the work setting is like and what our future careers might be,” expressed Recolosado.
As they move forward from this immersive learning experience, the students are encouraged to embrace both challenges and opportunities, uphold the core values of their profession as agriculturists, and make meaningful contributions to the institutions and communities they will serve.
Meanwhile, BABRC acknowledged the students’ contributions to the station throughout their training as they awarded the certificates of completion. By Vincent G. Savella
