TABUK CITY, Kalinga. – Following today’s lecture for members of Barangay Lucog’s Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), the Tabuk City Police Station (TCPS) believes BADAC should be more effective and functioning.
PSMS Alvius Cordero issued a statement emphasizing the importance of BADAC in the fight against illegal drugs and substances.
He stated that incidents involving the illicit use and trade of illegal drugs and substances can occur at any time in the community, and it is important for BADAC members to know what to do in such a situation.
BADAC, according to Cordero, is a critical component in the community for preventing people from becoming victims of hazardous drugs and for potentially assisting “victims” in their recovery.
Aside from the BADAC seminar, the event paved the ground for the TCPS to launch the PNP program “Oplan Kasimbayanan” to enlist the help of many stakeholders in support of their various programs.
BADAC members also heard from John Ya-os on barangay accountability, Ricky Basnic on the indigenous core values of “paniyaw,” “ngilin,” and “bain,” both from the City Barangay Affairs and Community Relations Office (CBACRO) and PLT John Macli-ing of the TCPS on traffic management.
Members of the BADAC are also encouraged to become more active and responsive, as well as to do their part to maintain peace and order in the neighborhood, according to City Mayor Darwin Estrañero.
