Baguio City – The Philippine Institue of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Baguio-Benguet Chapter calendared a series of seminars this November to January that will offer a total of 80 continuing professional development (CPD) units in the different areas of competencies.
There are 48 units available for the thematic area A (Technical skill), distributed to eight units each in six days. These are Tax Updates, Court Decisions, and BOA updates on November 30 (Thursday), Strategic and Critical Financial Management Decisions for CPAs on December 7 (Thursday), Risk-base auditing of Financial Statement on December 10 (Sunday), Audit Strategy in Fraud Examination and Prevention on January 13 (Saturday), Workshop on Internal Controls: the COSO Framework on January 14 (Sunday), and Computerized accounting system on January 20 (Saturday).
24 units are available for thematic area B (Professional skill), distributed to eight units each in three days. These are Cultural Excellence, Leadership and Loyalty Program Module 2 – Conflict Resolution: Dealing with Difficult People on December 1 (Friday); and Accelerated Financial Reporting using Excel on December 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday). Participants are to bring their own laptops during December 2 and 3.
Lastly, the Ethics and Good Governance seminar on December 9 (Saturday) offers eight units for thematic area C (Professional Ethics/values/attitudes).
These series of seminars will be credited in compliance with PRC-BOA Resolution 59-2012 on Clarifications and Amendments on the Rules and Regulations on Continuing Professional Education and Accreditation of CPAs in Public Accountancy and Accounting Education and R.A. 9298 (The Accountancy Act of 2004).
The entire seminar package can be availed by PICPA members in good standing at Php 15,680 while it is Php 17,920 for members not in good standing or non-members. If availed individually, the fees are Php 1,680 for members in good standing while Php 2,240 for members not in good standing or non-members.
All seminars will be at the Prince Plaza Hotel, except those held during December 9 and 10, which will be held at the Baguio-Benguet Community Credit Cooperative (BBCCC). All seminars are scheduled from 8:00 to 5:00 PM.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Walk-in participants can still be accommodated depending on the availability of seats and may not be given seminar hand outs.
