BAGUIO CITY – A member of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO is now undergoing medical treatment in a government hospital after he was repeatedly stabbed by an individual whom he tried to arrest for being suspicious to a passer-by at the Rice Section of the public market at around 3:40 pm Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Rolando F. Miranda, officer-in-charge of the BCPO, identified the wounded policeman as PO2 Danny O. Bomogao while the arrested suspect was named as Rowel Albay Ramirez, 29, who hails from Middle Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed Bomogao was walking in the public market when he chanced upon the suspect suspiciously looking at a passer by
When he tried to approach and confront him over his actuations, the suspect became unruly and suddenly stabbed the police officer several times with the use of sharp object.
Despite having sustained several stab wounds, Bomogao was able to arrest the suspect and brought him to the BCPO Station No. 7 for the filing of appropriate charges against him.
The victim is now undergoing medical treatment for the stab wounds he sustained while the suspect is now detained at the Baguio City jail facing charges of serious physical injuries and assault to an agent of a person in authority among others.
