City officials congratulated and commended Dr. Arrene Joy Bersamira Baldonado, RPH, MD, DPSBVNM, for topping the Philippine Nuclear Medicine board examination held last January 14, 2023.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the feat of Dr. Baldonado is worthy of commendation and serves as an example for every Filipino student and every Filipino family to emulate.
Further, the council pointed out that Dr. Baldonado has proven that Baguio city is not only famous as the country’s undisputed Summer Capital and home to athletic champions but also comprising of extraordinary talented individuals, thus, such performance has again catapulted the city into greater heights.
Dr. Baldonado was born on December 22, 1991 in Baguio City and that she is the 3rd of the 4 children of Engr. Armando P. Baldonado and Melba Bersamira.
She finished her elementary, high school and college education at the St. Louis University (SLU) She graduated Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 2012 and Doctor of Medicine in 2018 likewise at the Catholic-run higher education institution.
After passing the physician certifying examination in 2019, she immediately took the nuclear medicine residency training at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) in Manila from January 2020 to December 2022 and excelled in the Diplomat Specialty Board examination given by the Philippine Society of Nuclear Medicine topping the said examination given on January 14, 2023.
Throughout her residency at CSMC, the body noted that Dr. Baldonado gained extensive experience in work in various capacities in nuclear medicine, including the theragnostic and performing complex nuclear imaging procedures such as PET/CT scans, SPECT scans and other diagnostic tests.
