BAGUIO CITY – The city has around two hundred fourteen city roads based on the latest road inventory conducted by the City Engineering Office (CEO) as of May this year.
In a report, the CEO stated that the aforesaid roads have a total length of 88.08 kilometers that span around the city.
Further, the city has some 346 identified barangay roads with a length of 99.01 kilometers while there are some 15 identified private roads with a total length of 2.64 kilometers.
The CEO claimed that there are also 80 identified alleys with a length of around 8.12 kilometers distributed around the city.
It added that the CEO’s general administrative and support services division is essential to its operations, offering logistical, personnel and financial support to facilitate the smooth execution of all functions of the different divisions.
According to the aforesaid report, the CEO survey division has been diligent in issuing 187 memoranda or letters, 325 lot applications and 107 certifications related to road-right-of-way during the first quarter of the year that facilitated the implementation and completion of various horizontal projects of the local government.
The CEO pointed out that precision in land assessment and project surveying is vital for sound urban planning where the said task is being expertly managed by the land survey and inspection services division and that their accurate measurements and compliance checks support organized development efforts.
The CEO was able to successfully implement various infrastructure improvements, carried out necessary maintenance work and maintained the local government’s commitment to deliver high quality engineering services for the city.
They emphasized that the materials testing and quality control division also rigorously inspects building materials to prevent structural deficiencies and uphold engineering standards because maintaining construction quality is paramount. By Dexter A. See
