BAGUIO CITY – The city will serve as host to the conduct of the first ever International Combat Taekwondo tournament on Friday, April 4, 2025, 6 pm, at the Baguio Convention Center.
The 9-bout professional taekwondo tournament will be featuring two promising jins who will be pitted against their foreign counterparts that will help in aggressively promoting professional taekwondo not inly in the city but in the entire country.
The competition is the 7th after the founding of the International Combat Taekwondo in 2023 and that it will be the first ever professional taekwondo tournament in Asia.
Baguio also serves as the host of the Combat Taekwondo Philippines headquarters which is situated at the 5th floor of Abanao Square or at the Brave hearts martial Arts Institute.
The main event will be featuring Philbert Juanito of La Trinidad, Benguet who will go up against Low Hong Jac of Malaysia in the flyweight division while the co-main event will feature Johnwell Agalpao of Buguias will test the mettle of Raja Zulfadli of Singapore in the featherweight division.
In the lightweight division, Joanne Bognadon will be pitted against Nathalia Dinis of Brazil in the other co-main event.
Filipino jin Teodoro Botis will be featured in the heavyweight division against Daniel Bin Jumari of Indonesia that will serve as part of the supporting bouts in the said tournament.
South Korean Go Sung Won will be going up against Yeil San Cancejo of the Philippines in the welterweight division while Filipino Angelo Requillo will be pitted against Kasbani Bin Kasmon of Malaysia in the same division.
In the bantamweight division, Filipino Neil Gaerlan will be showing his prowess against fellow Filipino jin Bench Villafuerte while Enrile Amangao will test the mettle of Allan Dave Lana in the same weight division.
Juztine Facsay will go up against Jhanna Lee Rosena in the finweight division while that will serve as the curtain raiser of the said competition.
