City officials recently commended and congratulated the Baguio City representatives who actively participated in the 1st Philippine Judo Federation (PJF) Kata Championships held at the Badminton Hall, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila last August 31, 2024.
In a resolution authored by Councilor John Rhey Mananeng, local legislators stated that the outstanding performance of the Baguio-based judokas is a testament to the discipline, hard work and the support of their coaches, families and the Baguio City sports community that paved the way for them to garner recognitions during the competition.
Among the participants who brought home recognitions from this competition are Ylykch Nivrak Rillera – first place in the 6-11 years old kids boys category; Brent Samuel Aquino – first place in the 6-111 kids boys category; Ivan Nikolai Penchon – second place in the 6-11 years old kids boys category; Raine Trazo – second place in the 6-11 years old kids boys category; Paul Ezekiel Infante – second place in the 12-14 years old juvenile boys category; Oleus Banta – second place in the 12-14 years old juvenile boys category; Hannah Gaspar – third place in the 12-14 years old juvenile girls category; Chloe Eliza Makaskay – third place in the 12-14 years old juvenile girls category; Mikeighla Dino de Vera – third place in the women cadets category ad Leane Rain Siddayao – third place in the women cadets category.
Earlier, the 1st Philippine Judo Federation Kata Championships was successfully held at the Badminton Hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila last August 31, 2024.
The council claimed that Baguio judokas who represented the city exhibited exceptional skills, sportsmanship and dedication in their respective categories bringing honor and recognition to the city.
