BAGUIO CITY – The city legislative body approved the appropriation of some P704.1 million from available sources as the city government’s supplemental budget to cover the funding requirements of the present administration’s priority projects identified in the city’s annual investment plan.
The city’s finance committee earlier certified the availability of funds to support the supplemental budget where the same will come from the unappropriated surplus for 2020 – P94.54 million, continuing appropriation for capital outlay 2017 and below in various offices of the city government – P211.32 million; city development fund from 2017 and below – P104.15 million and reversion of obligation in all departments from 2017 and below – P293 million .
Among the proposed projects under the city’s annual investment plan funded by these funds include the construction of the Baguio youth convergence center at the Baguio Athletic Bowl – P159 million; product development for Baguio weavers – P1.5 million; product development for strawberry production – P5 million; construction of satellite markets in San Vicente, Camp 7, Dominican-Mirador, Bayan Park Village, Middle Quezon Hill and Irisan – P35 million; purchase of a traffic simulation software – P1.5 million; Baguio Athletic Bowl lighting – P5 million; rehabilitation of sewerage system in San Antonio Village – P6 million; purchase of land at Topinao, Tuba, Benguet – P120 million; Barangay LED streetlight project in various barangays – P135 million; construction of city hall annex phase 3 – P150 million; completion of day care center at San Antonio village – P1.2 million; improvement of road with drainage at Alphaville Street, Loakan Liwanag barangay – P6.22 million; road repair and improvement along Sayowet’s residence down to Purok 4 turning point, Poliwes barangay – P500,000; transfer of road-right-of-way originally between lots 9 and 10 to lots 12 and 13 Kayang Hilltop barangay P1.89 million; installation of medial divider at Magsaysay Avenue and Bonifacio St. – P10.2 million; construction and fencing of tree nursery at Busol watershed – P3 million; water system improvement at Kias barangay – P9.98 million; road improvement at Mercury St. near Pedrozo residence and Jucar residence at Upper Quezon Hill barangay P1.09 million; continuation of sewer line from the turning point to Accos residence at Purok 4 Holy Ghost Extension barangay P2 million; continuation of road improvement at Purok 7, Dontogan barangay P2.1 million; additional funding for CARAA 2020 – P4.3 million; rehabilitation of comfort rooms at Aurora Hill Health Center – P310,943; construction of sewer line of health center and connecting to sewer line at Aurora Hill Proper- P310.000; procurement of emergency communication system – P30 million; improvement and rehabilitation of existing 6 tourism information centers constructed by IEZA at Mines view, Post Office, Baguio Convention Center, Harrison, Burnham and Wright Park – P8 million and fencing of City Health Services Office at New Lucban barangay – P5 million.
Earlier, the City Development Council (CDC) adopted the supplemental programs, projects and activities in the fiscal year 2020 annual investment plan that will be funded under the proposed supplemental budget of the city government submitted to the city legislative body for approval.
