BAGUIO CITY – City officials recently congratulated and commended the members of the Baguio City para athlete delegation for their outstanding performance during the Philippine National Para Games held last November 10-15, 2024 at the PhilSports Complex, Pasig City and Rizal Memorial Complex, Malate, manila.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the Baguio para athletes brought honor and pride to the city by excelling in various events and demonstrated the true spirit of competitive sports and inclusivity.
Further, the success of the local para athletes was also made possible through the unwavering support of their families, coaches and the local government who have tirelessly worked to provide opportunities and resources for the athletes’ overall development.
The Philippine National Para Games is a prestigious national event that celebrates the talents, skills and determination of para athletes from all over the country, serving as a platform to promote inclusivity, sportsmanship and excellence in sports.
Baguio City, known for its vibrant athletic community, was proudly represented by its exceptional para athletes who displayed unwavering commitment, resilience, and remarkable sportsmanship during the Philippine National Para Games held on November 19015, 2024 at the PhilSports Complex, Pasig City and the Rizal Memorial Complex, Malate, Manila.
Gold medalists in the competition were Giovanni Ola in the archery qualifying round recurve open men, Olympic round recurve open men, team event recurve men open doubles and recurve open mixed team; Jaime Kathryn Monterde in the recurve open women in both the qualifying and Olympic rounds and recurve open mixed team Agustina Bantiloc in the compound open women and compound open mixed team; Elizabeth Bayla in the Olympic round compound open women; Lixa Sianen in the T46 women shot put, T46 javelin throw and F46 women’s discus throw; Leila Penamora in the T49 women’s shot put and T49 winners javelin throw; Babylyn Teneboso in the F13 women’s discus throw; Chyna Penamora in the F40 women’s discus throw and 41-kilogram women power lifting and Lynica Samuel in the deaf women’s 400-meter athletics;.
Silver medalists were Naoimee Brienne Ramos in the recurve open women in both the qualifying and Olympic rounds; Elizabeth Bayla in the compound open women; Kenelly Alexi Lubas in the persons with visual disability women; Agustina Bantiloc in the compound open women; Chyna Penamora in the T40 women shot put and T40 women’s javelin throw and Babylyn Teneboso in the F13 women’s javelin throw and Leila Penamora in the F40 women’s discus thrown and 61-kilogram women’s powerlifting.
Bronze medalists were Keith Vincent Gramaje in the recurve open men in both the qualifying and Olympic rounds; Jerika Bacdai in the recurve open women; Ronald Lacuata in the T40 men’s shot put; Alejandro Sarsalejo in the F20 men’s discus throw; Ana Marie V. Velasco in the T20 100-meter women; Aubrey Lei R. Baldoken in the T20 1-meter men; Sandy Hazel Dicalan in the T20 100-meter men; Wyleen W. Mangamte in the T20 100-meter; Jackson Limmayog in the T20 1,500-meter run; Ronald Lacuata in the 49-kilogram men’s powerlifting; Juan Francisco Manongdo in the Class 7 double event and Class 7 team event in table tennis.
