City officials recently congratulated and commended the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) council of the city for being one of the nine most outstanding SK councils in the country.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government extends its warmest greetings and commendation to the SK council of the city which is one of the nine outstanding SK councils in the country and saluted them for their hard work and dedication to the service bringing pride and honor to the city.
Earlier, the Positive Youth Network and Galing Pool organized the 4th Philippine Sangguniang Kabataan Awards which was held on June 12, 2023 at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City.
Republic Act (RA) 10742 otherwise known as the SK Reform Act of 2015 provides that the State recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation building and thus, promotes and protects their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social wellbeing, inculcates in them patriotism, nationalism and other desirable values and encourages their involvement in public and civic affairs.
The Baguio SK federation headed by Councilor Levy Lloyd Orcales was among the 20 national federation finalists for outstanding SK councils of the Philippines for the year 2023.
Copies of the approved resolution will be forwarded to the SK federation of Baguio city for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action.
