City officials recently commended and congratulated the student athletes of the University of the Cordilleras (UC), University of Baguio (UB), Baguio Central University (BCU) and Baguio College of Technology (BCT) who contributed in the overall ranking of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) during the national Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games 2024.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the achievement and exemplary performance of the student athletes from the various higher education institutions in the city, together with their coaches and assistant coaches, is manifestation of the earned titles that continue to bring honor and pride to the city and affirms its recognition s one of the sports havens in the country.
Earlier, the national PRISAA Games 2024 was conducted last July 20-26, 2024 in Legazpi City, Albay.
Further, the 2024 PRISAA Games was participated in by private higher education institutions from the country’s 17 regions composed of almost 10,000 collegiate and secondary athletes coming from the various schools around the country.
The council claimed that the delegates who represented the CAR were purely composed of student athletes from UC, UB, BCU and BCT which are private higher education institutions based in the city.
The body added that the city’s student athletes had been consistently admirable in the national competition not only this year but also in the past competitions where they continued to excel in their chosen fields of sports.
The council noted that Baguio continues to soar in many fields not only as the education center of the north but also in sports making it a home of the champions.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the participating student athletes, their coaches and assistant coaches and the schools where they come from for their information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
