“We want to contribute in spurring economic growth in the countryside that is why we want the leaders of the local, regional and cluster groups to provide their inputs in order for us to be able to formulate various programs and projects instrumental in convincing businessmen to put up their businesses in the different parts of Northern Luzon,” Lao stressed.
He added the programs and projects to be implemented will not only be limited to the interest of big businesses but also to extend assistance to help in the growth of small and medium enterprises which are considered one of the backbones of the country’s economy.
Some 60 top business leaders coming from the different local, regional and cluster chapters of the PCCI are expected to attend the gathering which is one of the major projects of the PCCI North Luzon area in order to build a solid partnership among the different chapters and set an example of unity, teamwork, solidarity and cooperation worthy of emulation.
Aside from the crafting of the needed interventions to help elevate the business climate in North Luzon to greater heights, Lao said the strategic planning conference is also geared towards preparing for the conduct of the North Luzon Business Conference this coming July 2015 which will be hosted by the PCCI Laoag City chapter.
He cited it is important to prepare early for the conduct of one of the biggest gatherings of businessmen in Northern Luzon so that all activities to be lined up will be smoothly implemented for the betterment of the whole business industry.
“We will continue to explore appropriate interventions on how to empower the business sector to continuously expand their operations in potential growth centers in North Luzon because of the bright prospects of investments as a result of better roads leading to key destinations,” Lao said.
The PCCI North Luzon official expressed his gratitude to the trust and confidence bestowed to him by officials and members of the different chapters from the various regions comprising the cluster, saying that there is a need for them to sustain their gains in the organization over the past several years so that they will be able to confront the challenges that might affect the organization in the future.
He appealed to the different chapter and regional officers to continue to work out the crafting of important programs and projects of the cluster which they could individually and collectively implement in their areas purposely to entice more investments and create a better business climate that will be an economic driver in their respective areas of operation.
