TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Officers of Bantay Rural Improvement Club (RIC) were inducted today to formally start the operations of the organization.
Before the officers took their oath, Assistant City Agriculturist Lim Ducyogen explained that the RIC as an organization is a partner of the city government through the Office for the City Agricultural Services (OfCAS) in the implementation of agriculture-related programs and services, and a way to promote women empowerment and economic development.
Ducyogen encouraged the group with 26 members to do their duties well in order to implement the planned activities for a successful organization.
RIC Coordinator Rey-an Gallamoy, in her message to the members and officers said RIC, a non-government to organization is for women and voluntary-based organization that provides opportunities for women empowerment and enhancement of skills with the assistance from the city government.
Through RIC, members develop leadership and livelihood skills for family and community development, she said.
RIC Bantay was also reminded by the Of CAS of the upcoming contest on gulayan sa barangay where it sought participation from all RIC groups in the city.
