TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Planning and Development Office conducted the annual barangay revisit in barangay Bantay on February 4, 2022. The activity aimed to update the 3-year Barangay Development Plan covering 2023-2025.
Through this grassroots consultation, top priorities were presented to the constituents to elicit their suggestions prior to their approval.
Subsequently, majority decided to put focus on the following projects to be implemented for the next three years; 1. Purchase of Barangay Ambulance, 2. Construction of Senior High Building at Bantay National High School, Centro, 3. Construction of School Gymnasium, 4. Construction of Daycare Building in Mataddong, 5. Construction of Barangay Health Station in Mataddong, 6. Spring Development, 7. Improvement of Road (barangay wide) 8. Construction of Multipurpose Hall with Warehouse, 9. Construction of Multipurpose pavement in Mataddong and 10. Improvement of Dalimuno Satellite Market.
These priorities will be the basis for funding by the City Government and the rest of the projects integrated in the Barangay Development Plan will be proposed for provincial and national funding.
Priority projects of all barangays will form part of the Annual Investment Program of the City that will be presented during the City Development Council for their review and approval and later endorsed to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the approval of the same.
Since 2019 to date, a total of P34,165,000 was allocated to fund infrastructure projects such as construction and improvement of Farm-to-Market roads, access roads, continuation of gymnasium, waterworks, streetlights, access roads, deepwells and others.
Oliver Gacuya, who represented the mayor, asked the barangay to align their development plans with the current administration’s development priorities so that all development efforts are directed toward accomplishing the city’s objectives. By Eisenhower Bucalen
