BAGUIO CITY – The ambulance that was turned over by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to the Blessed Association of Retired Persons (BARP) Foundation, Inc. was through the initiative of the Democratic Independent Workers’ Association, also known as DIWA Party-list, Prof. Federico A. Balanag, BARP resident, said here during the blessing and inauguration of the group’s emergency vehicle recently.
Ret. Gen. Edgar B. Aglipay, DIWA Party-list Chairman, led the formal turnover of the DIWA ambulance to the largest organization of senior citizens in Northern Luzon.
According to Chairman Aglipay, the DIWA Ambulance will serve as the manifestation and the instrument of the services and support offerings of DIWA to the people of Baguio, especially to those who will be in need of emergency services of the said vehicle.
Chairman Aglipay also said that the project aims to further strengthen health care services, support efficiently, and effectively respond to situations or circumstances that require immediate attention.
The event was successfully undertaken in collaboration with DIWA Party-list and the Blessed Association of Retired Persons Baguio Foundation or BARP.
The DIWA and BARP are known as interrelated organizations that actively aid and respond to the needs of citizens through Medical Missions and Health Services, Educational Services, etc.
This project is in line with DIWA’s mission to have a fair and accurate allocation of benefits and assistance for the development of the citizens towards a secure and progressive future.
For his part, Prof. Balanag revealed the appropriate trainings for the personnel who will be manning the operation of the ambulance is now underway and that the organization will announce to the public when its services will be available for everyone but more in particular, the senior citizens who need such services.
He expressed the group’s gratitude to DIWA Party-list for working out the release of the ambulance from the PCSO and making the dream of the organization to have an emergency vehicle of its own that could be used in attending to the needs of people in dire need of emergency assistance.
