BAGUIO CITY July 17 – The Blessed Association of Retired Persons (BARP) partnered with Herald Express, one of the established local publications in Northern Luzon, in order to strengthen its efforts to inform various sectors on its activities beneficial to the upliftment of the welfare of the elderly.
Starting this Sunday, BARP’s “The Golden Years Newsletter” will be regularly published in the Herald Express every third Sunday of the month.
BARP is the largest organization of senior citizens in Northern Luzon with a total membership of roughly 13,000 and still growing as of press time.
The printing of BARP’s newsletter as an integral part of the weekly publication will also contribute in marketing the local publication and its social media component as the fastest growing media organization in Northern Luzon.
Prof. Federico Balanag, BARP resident, said the partnership will also contribute in bringing to the grassroots level the important benefits of being a member of the organization with the hope that they can entice more senior citizens from the provinces to be a bonafide member.
BARP is known for its Special Mutual Assistance Program (SMAP) that provides substantial benefits to the members and their family members.
Further, the organization is also actively involved in various civic activities that tend to improve the relationship of its members and the community.
