City officials recently congratulated and commended the Baguio Central University (BCU) Chamber Choir, the Hymnus Christi Choir and Jomard L. Calamba for bagging gold medals and awards during the 1st Singapore International Choral Contest.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the local government proudly recognizes and commends the outstanding achievement of the aforesaid choral groups and individual in the field of music that brought pride and honor not only to the city but also to the country in the international arena.
Earlier, the 1st Singapore International Choral Contest was held last February 2-5, 2023. It is a prestigious event that brings together choirs from the different parts of the world to showcase their talents, cultural richness and passion for choral music.
The event serves as a platform for cultural exchange, musical collaboration and celebrates diversity through the universal language of music.
The BCU Chamber Choir was proud to represent the country in the said esteemed international event.
Among other contenders, BCU Chamber Choir bagged gold medals in the Senior Youth Choir Category, Adult Youth Choir Category and Most Inspiring Choir; Hymnus Christi Choir garnered gold medal in the Open Category; while Jomard L. Calamba, the BCU Chamber Choir conductor, was awarded as the Most Promising Conductor.
