BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio Country Club (BCC) is setting its sights on the realization of various development projects to contribute in spurring the growth of the local economy and allowing the promotion of its products and services.
BCC general manager Anthony de Leon said that one of the initiatives in the drawing board is the establishment of a coffee shop in Pacdal that will make available to the public the sale of its various pastries and other products to complement the existing outlets inside and outside the city that are selling BCC products.
However, the location for the proposed coffee shop is still being worked out to ensure that the establishment will be situated in a suitable area accessible to both residents and tourists.
Further, he added that the only exclusive club in the city is also working out the possible opening of its brand of a Japanese restaurant once a suitable location is identified to allow the public to have a choice of the same kind of restaurant right at the heart of the city.
The BCC official claimed that another major project in the pipeline is the opening of a hotel, restaurant and culinary school that will provide the appropriate training for students and professionals wanting to advance their knowledge and skills in the industry.
Moreover, he said that there will be scholarships for deserving interested individuals wanting to enter the planned school.
According to him, BCC also intends to put up an exclusive private residence within its property in barangay Outlook Drive that will also have an all-suites hotel to cater to the increasing demand for such kind of service in the city considering the limited area to build their individual residences.
He pointed out that this proposed development project is part of their long list of initiatives that the club wants to implement within the next several years that will benefit both their clients, the employees and their clients.
BCC started to market its famous products like the raisin, banana and carrot breads to the public through its various outlets inside and outside the city as part of its efforts to reach out to the public.
De Leon said that the implementation of these projects will be done in stages and BCC is closely considering various factors that should be seriously evaluated and assessed prior to implementation of each project to avoid possible unnecessary delays that might transpire in the course of the prosecution of the programmed works.
Last February, BCC celebrated its 120th anniversary as the only exclusive club in the country’s Summer Capital that remains to be one of the most preferred venues for the conduct of meetings, conventions and events that contribute in bolstering the local tourism industry. By Dexter A. See
