BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) assured the safety and security of the public during the conduct the various events lined up by the city government and its partners for this year’s celebration of the Summer Vacation (SumVac) in Baguio that already started and will end by end of May.
BCPO City Director Police Col. Ruel Tagel said that some 602 police personnel will be deployed in the different bus terminals and identified convergence areas around the city, including the main roads leading to the central business district to ensure law and order during the three-month period.
However, he said that additional police personnel will be tapped for possible deployment in the different identified convergence areas depending on the prevailing situation to ensure the safety and security of the public when attending the events lined up for this year’s SumVac.
The BCPO official pointed out that the police personnel will be appropriately deployed in the bus terminals and identified convergence areas in certain times of the day, especially when there will be a huge influx of residents and visitors, to help in maintaining law and order in the said areas and deter the occurrence of crimes.
The city government and its partners lined up a series of activities from March to May for the celebration of the 2025 Summer Vacation in Baguio. The events are composed of sports, tourism, arts and crafts, religious, culture and history, among others, that serve as major attractions in the city during the summer months.
He added that the BCPO will be issuing the appropriate traffic advisories as soon as the local police force are ready to implement schemes to ensure the smooth flow of traffic inside and outside the city and for the convenience of the motorists. By Dexter A. See
