BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) recently launched its Baguio App to guide both residents and tourists on real time traffic situation, available parking spaces, current situation in tourist destinations, among others.
BCPO City Director Police Col. Ruel Tagel said that the application was developed by the information and technology personnel of the local police force over the past several months to make it easier for both residents and tourists to prioritize their desired destinations and transactions in various government offices and businesses around the city.
He added that the application also contains the various local ordinances relative to traffic, peace and order, among others, to serve as a guide for them while staying or visiting the city.
However, the BCPO official claimed that the application is initially available for android phone users while efforts are being undertaken by the concerned personnel to ensure its availability in other operating systems.
Tagel urged both residents and tourists to download this application on their respective android phones for them to be guided on the current traffic situation, available parking slots, crowd condition in various tourist destinations to be fully aware of the different conditions in the various parts of the city.
Earlier, the BCPO official committed that the city’s police force will be developing an application that will be user-friendly to allow the public to be fully aware of the current situation in various parts of the city to guide them in navigating through the traffic-prone areas and the frequented tourist destinations.
Tagel expressed his gratitude to the support extended by the local government and the concerned information and technology personnel that resulted to the development and eventual roll out of this application which is now available for use by the public. By Dexter A. See
