BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) recognized various individuals and groups that were instrumental in the successful implementation of the local police force’s anti-COVID-19 response over the past 2 years.

The said individuals and groups were given plaque of recognition signed by BCPO City Director Police Col. Glen Lonogan in grateful recognition for their significant contributions in the successful roll out of the BCPO’s COVID-19 response.

Gemar Pimental was cited for his unwavering and valuable support to the Mobile Patrol Unit of BCPO for his generosity in offering his parking area as the emplacement of the MPU’s Quarantine Control Point (QCP). He also offered his business establishment as a shade during rainy seasons for PNP personnel who are managing the checkpoints.

BCPO also cited Sun Valley Vegetable Trading Area Disposers and Stakeholders Association for the group’s unwavering and valuable support to the City Mobile Force Company of BCPO for their generosity in donating tons of vegetables worth more or less Php 1,000,000 in support of the 186 outreach programs or “BarangaYanihan” activities of the unit that subsequently benefited some 15,000 individuals.

Further, Agtitinulong ti Pulis ken Residente para ti Urnos ti Baguio (APRUB) was appreciated by the BCPO for its unwavering and valuable support to the Tourist Police Unit of BCPO for their dedication in devoting their spare time to augment the unit in its Police-Community Relations activities particularly tree-planting, clean-up drive, and “Brigada Eskwela” and in maintaining peace and order in parks, particularly at the Burnham Park, through constant patrolling and traffic assistance especially during the weekends and special occasions.

Kagawad Jorge S. de Vera was cited for his unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO-Naguilian Police Station for his dedication in leading other force multipliers in the maintenance of peace and order and public safety in the community through constant patrolling at night and during typhoons when road clearing operations were conducted, and for his generosity in sponsoring some of the tanod and BPATs training in the barangay, in donating traffic signage that were installed not only in their barangay but also in other neighboring barangays, in repairing the station’s mobile car free of charge, and in providing some medical equipment to the Station Health Unit.

BCPO also recognized Rev. Rowena C. Orajay for her unwavering and valuable support to BCPO Camdas Police Station for being a dedicated active member of the station’s Faith-Based Advocacy Support Group through the Squat Weekly Interactive Meeting (SWIM), and active partner in the government’s anti-illegal drugs abuse campaign through the Baguio City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Integrated Participatory Community Building Program (IPCBP), and Community Empowerment and Social Action through the Couple’s Enrichment in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office, Youth Value/Character Formation programs in the schools and in the barangays, and Values Orientation in Classroom/Community Education (V.O.I.C.E.) Philippines in schools.

Marilyn S. Tami-ing was also recognized for her unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO Pacdal Police Station as Vice Chairperson and subsequently as Chairperson of the Station Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (SAGPTD) and for her generosity for meetings/lectures/symposium for the police and donating 17 pieces of data file boxes and a vehicle (Tamaraw FX) being utilized during police operations.

Ruben P. Abenoja was cited by BCPO for his unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO Legarda Police Station as member of the Station Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (SAGPTD) and for his generosity in donating eight CCTV cameras, steel gate, doors, and windows for the station.

Engr. Orlando L. Dela Cuesta was appreciated for his unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO Aurora Hill Police Station as member of the Station Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (SAGPTD) and his generosity in donating 43 pieces of solar led lamps for the Bayan Park Wellness Hill, Aurora Hill, Baguio City under the station’s project entitled “Adopt a Post; Share a Light; Stop Criminality”; two sets of desktop computers under the station’s project “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad”; 150 pieces of food packs during the station’s “BarangaYanihan” caravan; and food packs and health kits for the personnel and food packs for the participants of the station’s conduct of the Coronavirus Awareness Response and Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) Infodemic Drives during the surge of COVID-19, ELCAC and Drug Awareness lectures.

Santiago I. Alfonso was given the citation for his unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO Kennon Road Police Station as member of the Station Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (SAGPTD) representing the Transport Group / Senior Citizen Sector  and his generosity in donating tires for the station’s mobile cars and providing free car-washing services, washing machine, water heaters, solar panels, and other search and rescue equipment under the station’s project OPLAN “Katkunaynay”

Myrna D. Campos was recognized for her unwavering and valuable support to the BCPO Irisan Police Station as Chairperson of the Station Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (SAGPTD) since CY 2014 to present, and for her generosity in donating desktops and printers, construction materials for the improvement of the station, face masks and snacks for the personnel manning the checkpoint.
