BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) reminded motorists to observe utmost discipline when driving their respective vehicles to avoid the occurrence of untoward incidents leading to road rage.
The issuance of the advisory to the public by the BCPO came after the viral video of an alleged road rage that transpired along a major highway in Antipolo City, Rizal that caused the untimely death of a motorist and injuries to several others.
He called on motorists to be patient while on the road and not to allow their emotions to get the better of them aside from getting rid of conflicts when someone will confront them to avoid the misunderstandings that could result to heated arguments that might go out of control.
The police official pointed out that it is still best for motorists to avoid the occurrence of conflicts on the road as what matters for them is to be able to reach their desired destinations safe and sound.
Tagel claimed that discipline while driving is the obligation of everyone and emotions should be put under control especially in tense situations, like during traffic jams or during unnecessary altercations with fellow motorists.
According to him, it is still best for motorists to give way to others instead of allowing altercations to transpire right in the middle of the road as this might escalate into a situation where more problems are created, especially when violence occurs and people can be hurt or even killed.
Tagel rallied motorists to remain alert at all times and avoid using their gadgets or be involved in unnecessary distractions while driving to ensure they arrive safely at their destination.
Tagel underscored that each of us have our own concerns but we should not allow other bad-mannered motorists to get in our way and destroy our day as it will be best for everyone to be courteous while on the road.
The BCPO officer expressed his gratitude to the motorists plying the various routes inside and outside the city for their following traffic rules and regulations that ensure the smooth flow of traffic right at the heart of the city even when there is traffic congestion.
He assured that the law enforcers will continue to work extra hard to prevent the occurrence of road rages in the city to ensure the safety of everyone. By Dexter A. See
