BAGUIO CITY – Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) advises the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution during the Holy Week and Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2025. With over 300,000 tourists flocking the city, BCPO has intensified its efforts to maintain peace and order, ensuring the safety of both locals and tourists.
To ensure that police services are within the reach of the public, BCPO has increased its presence on major roads, transportation hubs, and key areas including parks, markets, and popular tourist spots. Police personnel will also be deployed in 22 places of worship across the city to ensure peaceful observance of religious activities throughout Holy Week.
Although theft cases have been steadily declining, anti-theft teams remain on high alert. Their presence aims to prevent theft incidents, allowing the public to enjoy the city with peace of mind.
Nevertheless, BCPO City Director, PCOL RUEL D TAGEL, encourages everyone to be proactive:
“We urge the public to take simple yet important precautions keep your belongings secure, plan your trips in advance, and stay updated on traffic conditions.” He also emphasizes the importance of observing city ordinances to maintain order and discipline. Motorists are reminded to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition for safe travel. The use of designated Bakasyon Lanes during peak travel hours is recommended to help ease congestion, especially within the central business district.
