Gov. Nestor B. Fongwan, turned over the key of the Senior Citizen Building to the Punong Barangay Allan Y. Maliones officially turned over to the senior citizens of Beckel represented by the Former Punong Barangay Morphy G. Quezon, members of the senior citizen organization of Beckel in the absence of the organization’s president and vice president.
Likewise the gymnasium was turned over to the Punong Barangay and finally accepted by the two heads of school by Mrs. Rosalina O. Laureta and Mr. Pablo A. Khayog of Bekkel Elementary School and Eastern La Trinidad National High School respectively.
In his inaugural speech, Governor Fongwan told the two heads of schools from the elementary and high school for the maintenance of the gym, be well cared off, always clean and maximize its use for learning so pupils/students will enjoy their P.E. He also said that the gym is not only for the school but for the whole Beckel Barangay, for all occasions, activities and programs of the barangay since the gym is a multi-purpose gym. So everybody from the barangay is very much welcome to make use of the gym.
The gym had an initial budget of P2million for the first phase and another P2million for the second phase all from the provincial government budget. Its lighting facilities will still be installed so the governor allocated again one more million for lighting, he added.
