BONTOC, Mountain Province – The 17th Begnas di Bauko, with the theme “Binnadang di Litagwan, Sumikaan di Ili ay Nataguan” (Unity of the People for the Progress of Our Homeland) was a resounding success, with representatives from the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) in attendance. Led by Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr., the delegation was accompanied by Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli, SP Member Henry Bastian, Executive Assistant Winston Calde, as well as the heads of offices and personnel of PLGU.
Other notable figures who graced the occasion were MPSPC President Dr. Edgar Cue, Mayors Butch Bacwaden-Besao, Constito Masweng-Tadian, Marcial Lawilao, Jerome Tudlong-Bontoc, and host Mayor Randolph T. Awisan-Bauko. Vice Mayor Bartolome Badecao was also present.
The event had two distinguished guest speakers, Councilor Gener Vergara of Tagaytay representing Francis N. Tolentino, and Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Brigadier General Patrick Joseph G. Allan, who represented Police General Rodolfo S. Azurin of the Police Regional Office in Cordillera (PROCOR).
The event was held under the banner of “Asenso Bauko” and was a celebration of the progress and unity of the people of Bauko. With the support of the PLGU and the presence of various dignitaries, the occasion was a momentous one, marking the 17th anniversary of the Begnas festival.
