The Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) is on red-alert, as it tightened its preparations to face the possible damage of typhoon Kristine to its distribution system.
Though clearing is a daily activity, the electric cooperative further heightened its clearing operations during the past 48 hours after its activation of its Emergency Response Protocols (ERP), while the typhoon’s effect has yet to be felt Baguio City and Benguet province.
The cooperative is asking its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs) to maintain safety and exercise caution at all times when confronted with unstable electricity due to damage caused by the typhoon’s effects.
BENECO asks its consumers to also expect power interruptions once the surge will be felt, and understanding for the time that will be needed for its line personnel to fix and stabilize its sytems prior to restoration of power.
For faster and more efficient information sharing, BENECO is asking its MCO’s to message thru its official BENECO FB Page and text their emergency hotlines the following:
CASE REPORT: (example: fallen tree on power lines)

The EC assures its MCOs that BENECO’s technical department and its support personnel are ready to address all power-related concerns the quickest yet safely for its linemen any eventuality that typhoon Kristine may bring.
