LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Local residents searching for employment opportunities will have the chance to be hired on the spot or be subjected to further screening through the conduct of the Benguet Day jobs fair which will be held on November 11-12 at the Palispis Hall, Provincial Capitol here.
The two-day jobs fair is a convergence program of the provincial government through the public employment and services office and the Cordillera office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE0CAR) and is part of the month-long celebration of the 115th founding anniversary of Benguet and the traditional Adivay Festival.
Boardmember Johnny Waguis, co-chairman of the Benguet Day jobs fair, said thousands of job openings to be offered by various local and overseas recruitment companies will be available for interested local residents wanting to be gainfully employed.
He said the conduct of the jobs fair is part of the initiative of local officials in order to bring closer to the people opportunities for being employed in various local and multinational companies,
The provincial advised job seekers to bring with them several sets of their personal information sheet, photos among other basic credentials so that they could file their applications to as many companies needing their services in the future.
He also reminded job applicants to come to the jobs fair site early so that they will be able to have the chance to apply for whatever positions that are available and would fit their existing qualifications.
Gov. Nestor B. Fongwan said the conduct of the Benguet Day jobs fair will become one of the institutionalized activities for the celebration of Benguet Day and the Adivay Festival in order to help qualified local residents land in descent jobs for them to be able to be gainfully employed and become productive citizens of the province.
