LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Over 200 student athletes and talented learners from different basic education schools in Benguet were honored with incentives and recognition from the provincial government during a ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Tuesday, June 25.
Most of the recognized students earned medals at the 2024 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet in Apayao, while others were awardees at the 2024 Regional Festival of Talents (RFOT) held in Baguio City.
“This recognition is to celebrate our students for inspiring their fellow youth with their achievements in sports and other co-curricular activities, which have brought pride to our province,” Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas said, also expressing his commitment to working with other officials to improve the cash incentives for these activities.
Diclas also extended his gratitude to the coaches for their sacrifices and dedication in developing the students’ skills and talents. He acknowledged the collective efforts of government leaders in supporting and implementing programs for students not only in sports.
