LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the thirteen municipalities of the province will have the chance to personally interact with their respective mayors following the upcoming scheduled visit of the members of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Benguet chapter in Hong Kong on May 24-26, 2023.
The foreign trip of the various local chief executives is an initiative of Rep. Eric Yap to allow the mayors to be appraised on the condition of their respective constituents who are currently working in Hong Kong.
Further, the mayors will also have a chance to benchmark with the Hong Kong government on the implementation of various programs, projects and activities for the welfare of the OFWs who are currently working in the foreign land.
The said trip is part of the initiatives of Congressman Yap and the LMP Benguet chapter to reach out to the OFWs from the different parts of the province who are currently working in Hong Kong for them to personally learn their current condition and be able to work out possible solutions to the ones that are encountering problems with their employers and their work in the said country.
Members of the federation of OFWs from Benguet are now preparing to welcome the different mayors and representatives from the office of Congressman Yap and for them to share their insights on their success stories and difficulties that they had been encountering in their present jobs.
Concerned local chief executives are keeping their fingers crossed that their constituents who are currently working in Hong Kong are doing well with their current jobs to be able to help sustain and uplift the living condition of their families that they have left behind for quite some time.
The LMP Benguet chapter is grateful to the OFWs from the different parts of the province who continue to make supreme sacrifices by staying away from their beloved families and work to earn a living for the upliftment of the current status of their families.
On the other hand, the Benguet mayors also hailed the family members of the OFWs for making the necessary sacrifices by allowing their family members to work overseas for them to have better living conditions and contribute to the sustained growth of the country’s economy their respective remittances.
The LMP Benguet chapter members assured the OFWs that they will make the necessary representations with the concerned government agencies with regard the issues and concerns they are encountering in their respective workplaces so that the same will be given immediate attention and provided with the appropriate solution so that the OFWs will be able to perform their duties and responsibilities well.
The different mayors are eager to interact with their constituents who are currently working in Hong Kong so that they will be able to also update their families on their current condition in the foreign land.
