LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The provincial government headed by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas recognized the winners for this year’s Social Media Influencers Awards during the BIYAG 2023 Awarding Ceremony recently at the Ben Palispis Auditorium.
Governor Diclas said the yearly award which is part of the BIYAG Festival celebration is given to Benguet local influencers in recognition of their contributions to the promotion of Benguet values, culture, and tourism.
There are five categories for this year’s social media award which are Benguet Positive Values, Arts and Entertainment, Culture, Education and Information, and Travel and Tourism.
Wilma Gaspili won the Benguet Positive Values category where Orlando Pacya (Igorot Vlogs) and Kyle Jon Tultog are finalists, while Desiree Aglasi was announced winner under the Arts Entertainment category of which Johndel Ancheta and Freddie Gaynat (FDG Stages) are finalists.
For the culture category, Kyle Jon Tultog was judged winner while Ivan Rey Cubangay and Freddie Gaynat were finalists.
Further, Gaynat received the Socmed Award for Education and Information while Regine Gasalao and Ivan Rey Cubangay (Hey Ivan) were finalists. Under the Travel and Tourism category, Ivan Rey Cubangay won over Orlando Pacya and Kyle Jon Tultog.
Special citations for being viral online giving positive vibes to netizens were also given to Frayjohn Pistola (John Sparrow) and Khian Grunner Galleo. Another special citation was given to Kumander Daot for featuring Benguet in his vlogs.
The awardees were judged by the Benguet Youth Academy composed of SK officials and other young leaders based on their videos nominated by their followers earlier this month.
Governor Diclas encourages Benguet youth to make use of social media platforms to help promote the rich and vibrant culture of the province. By SAP Jr.
