LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BGLF) has recognized the province of Benguet, along with other provinces, cities, and municipalities, that made it to the list of top performing local governments in the country in terms of Local Revenue Generation for fiscal year 2021.
“The BLGF announces the list of the National Top Performing Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities in Local Revenue Generation for FY2021… in recognition of their exemplary efforts and performance towards sustainable growth and effective local fiscal management,” BLGF stated in their official announcement Tuesday night.
Benguet placed 2nd in the top 10 provinces on the year-on-year growth in locally sourced revenues (LSR) for the fiscal year 2020-2021.
Based on the 2021 LSR, Benguet recorded a 67.9% increase with P683.65 million compared to the P407.15 million LSR in 2020.
Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas recognized the effort and camaraderie of the personnel in the Provincial Treasury Office and all the offices concerned with the collection of fees and charges saying it’s a fruit of working in unity.
Governor Diclas said the provincial government will continue to work hand-in-hand in putting more effort to maintain or even improve its performance in revenue generation.
The province has also ranked 7th nationwide under the same category for the fiscal year 2019-2020.
