LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Province of Benguet under the leadership of Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas has once again proven its excellence in local governance and financial management.
The Bureau of Local Government Finance – Cordillera Administrative Region headed by OIC Regional Director Erwina Grace P. Morales recently awarded Benguet with a certificate of achievement after the province emerged as the top-performing province in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in the 2022 Highest Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR) category.
The province amassed Php 586,051,434.44 in LSR collections.
“May this recognition continuously drive the Provincial Government, through the Provincial Treasury Office, to sustain its revenue generation efforts towards better local governance and efficient public service,” the certificate of recognition presented to Governor Diclas and the Provincial Government reads.
Governor Diclas acknowledged the collective effort of the people of Benguet which “resulted to this success.” He also thanked the Provincial Treasury Office headed by Imelda Macanes for their continued dedication, adding “this milestone is a reflection of the entire province’s commitment to financial excellence and will definitely serve as a motivation to strive even more in local governance.”
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that Benguet was recognized as 2nd top-performing local government in local revenue generation nationwide for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 and 7th for FY 2019-2020, both during the first term of Governor Diclas. By SAP Jr.
