The 2024 Adivay Provincial Skills and Competition, held on November 20 at the Trade Fair Area in Wangal, La Trinidad, was a vibrant celebration of Benguet’s culture, talent, and community spirit. The event showcased the province’s diverse talents in beauty skills and avant-garde fashion while providing opportunities for career growth and health awareness.
One of the event’s highlights was the Beauty Skills Showdown, where participants from various municipalities competed in nail art, makeup artistry, and hairstyling. Sablan, Bokod, and Mankayan were recognized for their exceptional nail art, makeup artistry, and modeling skills, respectively. The overall winners were Marisa F. Atiw and Analiza Calde from Bokod, who received a cash prize of Php 10,000; Rosie G. Dennis and Marceline P. Depaynos from Tublay, who received Php 7,000; and Homer P. Torren from Kabayan, who received Php 5,000.
Another exciting competition was the Heritage Couture Challenge, where designers showcased their creativity by creating fashion pieces inspired by Benguet’s cultural heritage. Janet A. Dumsang from Kapangan, Charina P. Sario from Bokod, and Jelyn T. Bocastog from Mankayan were awarded for their outstanding designs, with the first, second, and third placers receiving Php 10,000, Php 7,000, and Php 5,000, respectively.
Beyond the competitions, Adivay 2024 offered a platform for career development and community wellness. The Career Advocacy Program provided valuable insights into various careers. At the same time, free health services such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, massages, and hair treatments were made available to attendees.
Adivay 2024 was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of Benguet’s rich cultural heritage and the talents of its people. The event inspired the youth to pursue their passions and contribute to the province’s growth and development.
