La Trinidad, Benguet – Second seed La Trinidad Berries upend topseed Buguias Carrots, 74-56, to bag Laity Cup’s BBA tournament championship last November 24, 2016 at the San Jose Gym, here.
The final score did not indicate the tightness of majority of the match, although, the Berries were ahead by more manageable margins.

The Berries got seven points from Randal Laruan and six from Jushua Padilla to open the game with a seven point first quarter lead, 21-14.
Six points each by Niko Lalio and Lloyd Wadasen brought the Carrots back closer, 30-35 at halftime. Both team got wide-spread scoring from their men on the floor to end the third, 51-44, Berries still up.
After Wadasen connected on a lay-up to let the Carrots remain in contention, 53-64, the Berries dropped a dizzling bomb to put the game away.
It started from a basket by Laruan and a spot up jumper and a bank shot by Janrau Beray to increase the lead to 15 with 2:43 to go forcing the Carrots to sue for time.
When action got back to the hardcourt, a trio of steals resulted to two Padilla drives to the biggest lead of the game, 76-55, time down to 2:10.

Meanwhile, the six-man Kibungan Rockwall squad scattered the Agi-Kabayan, 90-75, to bag the bronze.
