BESAO, Mt. Province – The improved Besao Mountain Province to Tubo-Abra Road, “Layugan Bridge and Tamboan pathway were blessed and inaugurated in a ceremony attended by officials of the provincial and municipal governments of the the province, Tamboan barangay, and other guests.
The Layugan bridge is a dream come true for the people of Brgy. Tamboan who had suffered from the hardship of traveling from the town center Kin-iway to Tamboan. Besao Mt. Province to Tubo-Abra Road is a part of the 50 listed projects funded under the 607-million peso loan of the provincial government from the Land Bank of the Philippines.
Provincial officials, together with the municipal officials and other guests, expressed their gratitude and commitment to more partnership, engagement, and more successful projects to come. The completion of these projects will significantly ease transportation in the area and contribute to the development of the communities.
In his message, Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan said that this project was requested from the office of the OPAPP and had a span of two years, but because of some unforeseen issues, it was reverted. However, because of his love for Tamboan and Besao, they agreed to have a loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines to fund this project, and now it has been fulfilled. He thanked everyone for their cooperation and love for their province.
The event was attended by Vice-Governor Francis O. Tauli, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Hon. Ezra Gomez and Hon. Ricardo Masidong, and heads of offices, such as Dr. Rodelio Bagawi from PVET, Victorino Dines from GSO, Nicasio Calde from PSSO, Oscar Panilas from ENRO, Engr. Edward Likigan from PEO, and Miguela Angwani from PSWDO. Also in attendance were municipal and barangay officials Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Raymundo Bryden, SB Benedict Ballang, SB Marcos Mangallay, SB Johnny Ambucay, Tamboan barangay officials, Executive Assistant Winston Calde, PGO, PNP headed by PCPT OIC Janice Patting-Besao Municipal Police Station, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines headed by Herson N.
