LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Barangay Betag routed Barangay Poblacion, 93-66, last Sunday, February 12, here, to set-up a rubber match for the right to advance to the finals of the 35 Up bracket of the La Trinidad Mayor’s Cup.
Jonathan Agayas scored 15 of his team-high 18 points to lead Betag in methodologically building a ten point first half lead before a total team effort uncorked a 27-15 third canto run to help Betag pull away.
Seven players scored for Betag during the run lead by Ronald Palacio’s six markers. Rommel Basali added five while Christopher Sinong, Jack Sobrino, and Markie Mat-an chipped-in four apiece.
Betag simply coasted along in the fourth to set the do-or-die game.
Joseph Banto scattered a game-high 22 for Poblacion.
