BAGUIO CITY – The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc. (BFFFI) is optimistic on higher tourist arrivals in the city for the upcoming conduct of the various activities lined up for the 29th edition of the Panagbenga.
Panagbenga Media Committee Chair Andrew Pinero said that since the staging of the 74th January Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament in late November up to the middle of December last year, the Baguio Country Club (BCC) and other hotels in the city had realized 90 to 95 percent occupancy rate which is already considered high in the industry as there were only a few rooms that were vacant due to sudden cancellations from guests due to various reasons.
He added that at the start of the new year, the occupancy rate of the hotels and other accommodation establishments in the city was pegged at around 80 to 90 percent, still quite high based on industry standards.
The Panagbenga Media Committee chair claimed that with the activities for the 29th edition of the flower festival rolled out, tourists have already started making reservations with accommodation establishments for their visit to the city during the major highlights of the flower festival, particularly the grand streetdancing competition on February 22, 2025 and the grand floral parade on February 23, 2025, as well as the week-long Session Road in Bloom scheduled on February 24 to March 2, 2025.
According to him, for the regular attendees of the annual alumni homecoming of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), reservations had already been made when they check out to guarantee their accommodations for the following year.
The BFFFI lined up some eighteen traditional events for this year’s edition of the flower festival that will run from February 1 to March 2, 2025 with the theme “Blossoms Beyond Boundaries.’
Pinero assured tourists that the numerous accommodation establishments in the city are ready to cater to their needs when attending the major crowd-drawing events lined up for the flower festival. By Dexter A. See
