LUNA, Apayao – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Luna Fire Station has received a brand-new fire truck, replacing its 41-year-old unit, as announced on May 27, 2025, by BFP-Apayao.
“This is definitely a massive boost for fire safety in the Municipality of Luna. It is known that the current fire truck of Luna FS is already 41 years old! So having this new vehicle is surely a timely and great blessing for a better and improved service of our firefighters to the community,” BFP Apayao said in its Facebook post.
The new fire truck is expected to improve response times and operational readiness during fire emergencies in Luna and nearby towns.
The acquisition was made possible through the efforts of Luna Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil, who formally requested the unit, and Congressman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, who endorsed the request with the support of then Undersecretary Atty. Juan Victor Llamas of the Department of Interior and Local Government. Also acknowledged were Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr., BFP–CAR Regional Director FSSupt. Robert M. Pacis, and BFP Chief FDir. Jesus P. Fernandez.
BFP–Apayao, under the leadership of Provincial Fire Marshal FSupt. Mark Anthony P. Dangatan, extended its gratitude to all involved and committed to continue improving fire protection services in the province. By Apayao PIO
