TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Tabuk City Fire Station (TCFS) generated a total of PhP2,718,820.00 in collection from various permits and clearances processed from January to September this year.
This year’s collection from the same period is higher compared to 2023, which was PhP2,498,251.50.
In an interview with TCFS Senior Fire Officer 2 Raymundo Agabas, their office has issued 267 fire safety evaluation clearances, 2,554 fire safety inspection clearances in business establishments, and 72 occupancy permits.
Additionally, their office has also issued 56 clearances for government offices after compliance following their inspections.
The BFP ensured that all applicants complied with the existing laws, including the Fire Code and the National Building Code, before issuance of the necessary clearances and permits required.
Acting City Fire Marshal Arlyn Diwag added that the compliance of different applicants from establishments and residential houses will ensure the safety of their structures against any electrical defect and fire-related incidents.
She stated that faithful compliance by applicants is essential in order to be safe in the event of a fire.
In a report made by the BFP, a total of 42 fire-related incidents were recorded, which include grass fires, residential fires, and vehicular fire incidents.
Meanwhile, in order to educate the communities, the BFP has started conducting Basic Skills for Responders Training in barangays. The BFP targets to train all the barangays until 2025 to empower and capacitate them in fire related emergencies, including first aid response.
