LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Biliran province together with personnel from their rural health unit (RHU) recently conducted a benchmarking activity in Benguet to learn about the implementation of universal health care (UHC) in the province, it being one of the advance implementation sites (AIS) of UHC in the Philippines.
The purpose of the activity was to gather insights and best practices from Benguet’s UHC implementation that could be applied in Biliran.
During the visit, the team paid a courtesy call to Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas who shared with the team his health program priorities and how he supports the UHC implementation.
Assisted by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Meliarazon Fianza Dulay, the team also visited the Benguet General Hospital to see the e-konsulta package and the public health unit. The e-konsulta package is an electronic medical record system that aims to improve the delivery of health care services to patients.
The benchmarking activity is part of Biliran’s efforts to improve their health care services and ensure their constituents access to quality health care. By SAP Jr.
